Trouble flown

Breath savored

Thoughts quell

Harmony sings

Hush spreads

Calm flows

Tranquil grace

Beautiful still

I had a rough week.

Looking for peace and rest today.

I hope you find them, too.

Where do you seek peace?  Have you found it?  Shoot me a comment.  I’m looking forward to hearing all about it.

I’d have to agree this week was a non-peaceful type of week…
Usually I find peace, albeit fleeting, in a bag of chips or a few handfuls of m&m’s, but on this gorgeous fall weekend – I found it in a ten minute drive alone to the grocery store with the windows rolled down and the warm breeze in my hair with the music playing. That photo you posted was gorgeous – I wouldn’t mind hanging out in that pic for a bit. Cheers to peace and quiet of the mind..xo DG

I think it is really important to be able to ‘disengage’ from the chaos by just taking a little bit of time for myself to listen to my favorite music, take a hot bath, be in prayer, work in the garden, paint in the studio…etc. I think the mind and body beg for those times amidst chaos. Even when our child was younger, we made it mandatory for him to have one hour every day of quite time in ‘his space’. It was an adjustment at first, but later he really did well with it and knew when quiet time was and he could pick between napping or playing quietly.

It helps also that I make lists prior to my day starting. It helps me really prioritize the things that really need to be done vs. what can wait to be done if need be. I make my quiet time part of that list. And if something gets missed by the end of day, don’t sweat it. It’s ok. There will be a new day to take on any missed projects. I promise.
