Friend Mine…Gina’s Favorites
by Gina Valley
I’m spending the weekend with my family. I’m guessing we’re not the only ones trying to squeeze a little bit of extra summer into these waning weeks.
One of my favorite Sunday posts is my Friend Mine post, and knew it would be a great Gina’s Favorites post. You can read my Friend Mine post below in its entirety, or, for you hardcore readers, you can click on one of these magic links to read Friend Mine in its original location.
Either way, I’ll meet you at Friend Mine.
Who sings to me
And lifts my spirit
Who whispers gentle love
Who walks with me
And holds my hand in fog
Who spies good buried deep inside me
Who draws me into sunshine
And surrounds me with warmth
Who renews my joy
Restores my smile
Reminds me to play
And to laugh
And to run
And to leap higher
Friendship is such an amazing gift. I’ve heard it quipped that God gave us friendships as an apology for our families. I think friendships are another form of family altogether.
No matter how you look at it, friendships boost and support us in a way no other relationship can.
I’m going to reconnect with friends this week that I’ve been missing. I hope you’ll do the same.
Who lifts you? I’m looking forward to hearing about it. Drop me a comment while you’re thinking about that special person.
